For a sandal or heel buckle quote, provide strap width and thickness, a dimensioned attachment drawing, material, finish reference, quantities per design and sample requirements.
Measure the strap opening and the frame separately
Label the usable strap opening, overall buckle width and length, stock thickness and prong dimensions on the same drawing. The outside frame size does not establish which strap fits. Include the thickness of folded or reinforced strap material at the attachment.
If you have an existing buckle, photograph the front, back and side beside a scale and send the physical sample when fit cannot be established from the drawing. State whether the drawing or the sample controls if they differ.
Identify the construction and attachment
Specify whether the design uses a pivoting prong, a fixed hook, a sliding adjustment or a decorative frame. Show how the strap attaches and how the wearer opens or adjusts it. Provide the mating part, strap-hole pattern or elastic section where relevant.
A decorative buckle and a working closure can look similar. Describe the intended function so that appearance, fit and sample review address the same construction.
Define material and finish independently
State the requested base material and the target colour or texture. Gold, silver and rose gold are appearance directions; ask which process is proposed for the selected substrate. Use a physical colour reference or approved sample for matching.
Where hardware touches skin or must meet a buyer requirement, name the intended market, use and requested document scope. Agree the relevant test method and acceptance criteria instead of assuming a finish name proves compliance.
Break down quantities and sampling
Give quantity per design, size and colour. Ask whether an existing tool can be used or whether new tooling is required. Separate unit pricing, tooling, samples, packing and freight in the quotation.
Review a buckle on the intended strap before approving production. Record the approved drawing version, sample and finish reference. Minimum quantities, sample timing and bulk lead time are confirmed for that specification.
Send a dimensioned drawing or reference sample and list the material, finish, quantity and approval requirements. Tooling, sample availability and commercial terms are confirmed after review.
